DM4 Laser Remote Methane Detector

The DM4 laser methane remote detector utilizes tunable semiconductor laser absorption spectroscopy technology to quickly and accurately detect gas leaks, specifically CH4, over long distances. This allows workers to detect leaks in difficult-to-reach or inaccessible areas from safe locations, such as busy roads, external risers, overhead pipes of high-rise buildings, long-distance transmission pipelines, and indoor detection of high-rise buildings. The use of laser methane remote detectors not only improves the efficiency and quality of inspections but also enables inspections in previously inaccessible areas. How it works

The instrument emits a precisely tuned laser beam. When the laser hits the surface that needs to be measured, it creates a diffuse reflection. The instrument then receives a portion of the diffusely reflected light. By analyzing the received signal, the average concentration of methane along the path taken by the laser can be determined.
