GL18-LVR9 is a highly advanced, powerful, lightweight, durable, stylish, highly integrated, bilingual (Chinese and English) PE gas pipeline acoustic positioning instrument. The design of the product adheres to excellent product performance, high-quality manufacturing technique and high-level user experience, aiming to enhance work efficiency, increase practicality and durability, and also take into account portability and small size. GL18-LVR9 is a landmark product developed by Xi'an Quick Detection Instrument Co. Ltd. based on our long-term research and manufacturing experience in acoustic pipeline detection instruments. With various features, the GL18-LVR9 has further advanced the development of PE gas pipeline acoustic positioning instruments.

Working Principle

The gas vibrator of the GL18-LVR9 is connected to the natural gas pipeline by linking to the pipeline relief valve. The GL18 transmitter supplies power to the gas vibrator and controls the signal output of gas vibrator. When the vibrator drives gas vibration in the pipeline, a special frequency vibration signal is generated, the vibration signal is horizontally transmitted along the gas flow in the pipeline and vertically to the ground. The receiver LVR9 receives and collects signal through a ground sensor and transmits it to main unit, the main unit transmits effective signal to the headphone after filtering and algorithms. Operators determine the location based on the transmitted signal and the area with the strongest ground signal is exactly above the buried pipeline.

Features of GL18 Transmitter

● The design of the GL18 transmitter considers the requirements of practicality and portability, it is smaller, lighter, and more convenient to take.

● The transmitter housing is made of aluminum material, which can protect the instrument from various impacts and collisions during use. The yellow silicone-covered handles on both sides of the body provide a more comfortable grip when carrying it, and they also serve as a warning when working outdoors.

● The interface of the transmitter instrument is clear and concise. The remote control status, power, frequency, battery voltage, vibrator temperature are all displayed on the panel. The charging and signal plugs adopt quick self-locking plugs which facilitates faster insertion and removal. The adjustment of frequency and power can be achieved either by pressing the knob or by rotating the knob.

● The transmitter has a LORA remote control function. The LVR9 receiver can remotely control the on/off, frequency conversion, power adjustment and operating status of the transmitter within a range of 3 kilometers. This significantly improves work efficiency and reduces commuting costs.

● The LORA remote control function of the transmitter is very easy to pair. The pairing can be completed at work site simply by using the instrument and no computer is required. Once the instrument is powered on, it can automatically connect to the paired device. When re-pairing with new instruments, it can be quickly paired by simply operate  the instrument.

● The transmitter has the function of measuring the temperature of the gas vibrator. The transmitter panel displays the temperature status inside the gas vibrator. If the temperature is normal or exceeds the limit, there will be display and warning. Based on the temperature indication inside the gas vibrator, the instrument can be used safely.

● The transmitter has 4 constant-frequency and 2 variable-frequency settings, these 6 default quick frequencies are selected based on multiple actual tests to achieve the best positioning effect. Pressing or rotating the frequency knob allows for quick frequency switching.

● The transmitter has an extensive range of frequencies. Without the need for a computer, it can select any frequency required for positioning operations and the accuracy can reach to 0.01Hz, the frequency adjustment range is from 100Hz to 999.99Hz. The vast range of positioning frequencies not only enables better positioning of complex pipelines but also can be matched with any receiver available on the market.

● The transmitter has 8 power output levels. The power output level can be flexibly selected according to the detection distance and the depth of the pipeline burial. The multi-level power input can not only ensure the positioning effect but also save the power consumption of the transmitter and reduce the heating of the vibrator.

● The transmitter is equipped with a large-capacity 18650mAh lithium battery. It can last for up to 12 hours in maximum power mode. The transmitter can also be charged by external portable power bank to extend working hours.

● Higher voltage and output power enable the transmission of stronger signals to allow for deeper and farther detection.

● By emitting special modulated frequencies, the signal recognition ability in noisy environments is greatly enhanced.

Features of LVR9 Receiver

● An in-built remote control function is added to the LVR9 receiver, the remote control and antenna of the previous generation product are integrated into it. Through the LVR9 receiver, one can remotely control the start and stop of the transmitter, adjust the frequency and power, and also remotely monitor the operating status of the transmitter without the need to carry a separate remote control.

● In the listening mode interface, the frequency and signal strength of the detected constant sound wave signal are calculated in real time, at the same time, the values of all sound wave signals within the frequency range are set. The frequency measurement, real-time waveform and spectrogram are displayed in the interface, in addition, the volume and characteristics of the sound heard through the ear are included. These combined elements provide more accurate and efficient positioning of buried pipelines.

● LVR9 add dust caps, which prevents dust and moisture from entering the instrument when the it is not in use.

● The multi-functional color touchscreen is with the brightness of up to 900 nit. Even under the intense sunlight with direct sunlight shining on it, the content shown in screen display can still be clearly seen.

● The grip feeling of the curved bottom shell, the soft padding rubber on the upper shell, the dual-function rotary and pressing button, the grip feeling of the probe cover, the integrated base for the probe, the quick installation and disassembly of the probe, and the telescopic strap, all take into account ergonomics, user experience and efficient operation.

● The LVR9 adopts the latest popular design, it integrate the charging port and the signal port into one, combine the headphone port and the USB port into one in the form of Type-c port. The number of ports is reduced from 4 to 2 to lower the risk of water, dust and other objects entering the instrument to extend the service life of the instrument.

● LVR9 has the functions of recording and data storage, it can save on-site audio and image information. Even those who are not present can assist in pipeline detection by using the saved information.

● The depth measurement function has been further optimized. Based on the on-site consition, it is possible to choose 3 points to measure the pipe burial depth, or choose 5 / 7 points for measurement. The operation is easy and efficient as the positioning and depth measurement work can be done for one time.

● The sound quality is soft and clear, and it features a 5-level hearing protection function to protect users’ hearing.

● The detection mode uses a square column chart to represent the signal magnitude measured at each point, which is convenient for comparison and makes it easier to locate the pipeline position.

● LVR9 allows for flexible adjustment of the audio width. The minimum frequency bandwidth can reach 20Hz, and it has an accurate frequency measurement function. LVR9 can measure transmission frequencies sent by other transmitters and adjust these frequencies to match those of other brands for use.

● LVR9 has wireless Bluetooth function. Both wired and Bluetooth headphones can be used simultaneously or separately. Two people can use one LVR9 to listen to the audio at the same time, which improves the detection accuracy and efficiency. The Bluetooth pairing is simple and quick, the instrument can automatically match the Bluetooth headphones after it is powered on.

● The LVR9 probe adopts high-sensitivity piezoelectric sensing technology, which has extremely high sensitivity and can detect very weak vibration signals.

● The design of the LVR9 probe takes into account the probe needle mode, when the probe needle is connected, it can be easily inserted into soft soil. The three-legged base of the probe is made of stainless steel, the probe needle can be quickly installed without disassembling the base, it is easy to switch hard ground mode and soft soil mode.
